How We Build Your Timber Deck
Every deck we build starts with a proper structural foundation. We use MGP10 or F7-grade structural timber throughout, treated to H3 minimum for ground-contact resistance. Here’s exactly what goes into the build:
Concrete pad footings sized to engineer specs. 90×90mm posts for standard decks, 115×115mm for elevated or large-span builds. All posts are H4 treated.
140×45mm or 190×45mm H3 treated bearers. 90×45mm joists at 450mm centres standard; 140×45mm for heavier loads or wider spans.
86mm or 140mm boards fixed with stainless steel screws or hidden clip systems. Expansion gaps set correctly — no cupping, no splitting.
All new timber decks are oiled on completion with a premium penetrating oil. We advise on the right product for your species and exposure.
